Looptimer Difference

Looptimer is a Visual Timer that uses light as a progress bar, improving how you track time. I created this project because it was something I needed, and I couldn't find it, so I made it.
I had no idea how many others needed this, too...

Looptimer uses a soothing blue light to help you track time.
As the light travels, it quite simply tells you how much time is left without any mental math. You don't have to look at the time, to understand how much time is left.
It changes your relationship with time.

How Looptimer Works
Very Simply. There are three buttons: Minutes, Seconds, and Start/Stop.
Add any time between 00:01 and 99:59, press start, and Looptimer's progress bar will travel around the face, giving you a visual of time elapsing.
Once time has expired, it will flash to catch your attention, and start counting up, so you know how long time has expired.

LoopTimer's unique "Full Revolution" interface, which converts abstract time into a concrete geometric path. Instead of watching minutes disappear, you watch a shape complete itself, which helps reduce the anxiety often associated with standard countdowns.
- The 4-Corner Guide: The square frame acts as a subconscious anchor, where each corner and side represents a specific percentage of your task (0-25%, 25-50%, etc.). This allows you to instantly gauge progress without needing to perform mental math calculations.
- Variable Speed Revolution: Unlike a standard clock where 15 minutes is always a small slice, Looptimer decouples space from time. Whether you set a 5-minute sprint or a 90-minute deep work session, the light travels the full 360-degree perimeter, making every task feel visually complete.
- Completion vs. Loss: By showing a loop filling up rather than numbers ticking down, the mechanism is designed to trigger a dopamine response (completing a pattern) rather than a cortisol spike (losing time).
- Peripheral Sensing: Because the light travels along the rim, you can sense "how full" the loop is from the corner of your eye. This allows you to maintain focus on your work without breaking your "Flow State" to read specific digits.
Who Looptimer is for
I developed this timer as it was something I needed in my practice. As we got further into the development, I started showing Looptimer to others for feedback. I was blown away at the different uses people had for Looptimer. I could see how Looptimer could provide significant benefits to a large demographic of people. It became very clear who would benefit from Looptimer the most.
Anyone who processes information differently. People with ADHD. People with time blindness. People with Autism or AuDHD. Neurodivergent People. Children.
This is what inspired us to keep going... All the populations who need something like this.

Looptimer Features
When developing Looptimer, we considered its features important. Our goal was to create a well-built, high-quality visual time management tool that is inclusive for all.
Features we focused on:
- The Visual: A bright, clear visual that is easy to see from all angles.
- Versatility: Angled bottom to eliminate the need for a kickstand, strong no slide magnets, and can be hung on the wall.
- Simplicity: Easy to see and easy to use. Our strength is in our simplicity.
-
Inclusivity: Looptimer was made for all types of communities and all types of differently-abled people.
Control How Much Sound
Looptimer's unique visual display allows for no sound options for low, or no sound environments.

Tracking at a glance
Looptimer is designed to make one full revolution, no matter the time you set. This allows you to easily see how much time you have left.
Each side of the timer represents 25% of the total time. So when the light reaches each corner, it represents 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of time elapsed.

How is Looptimer Different?
- Precision vs. Approximation: Standard timers are often approximate, whereas LoopTimer allows you to set exact times (e.g., 5:49) rather than just "roughly 5 minutes."
- Extended Duration: Most competitors stop at 60 minutes, but LoopTimer extends to 90 minutes, which is crucial for longer "Deep Work" sessions or exams.
-
Intelligent End-of-Timer Actions:
- Visual Cue: LoopTimer provides a specific visual signal when time ends.
- Count Up: Unlike standard timers that simply stop, Looptimer begins counting up after the limit is reached, allowing you to track exactly how much "overtime" has passed.
- Workflow Memory: The device features a memory function that automatically resets to the previously set time, making it faster to repeat tasks or intervals.
- Auditory Control: Instead of a single jarring alarm or fixed mechanical tick, LoopTimer offers customizable Sound Options (No/Low/High), allowing for 100% silent operation if needed.

Looptimer or phone timer?
I once heard someone call their phone a "portal to procrastination," and I have never related to something more in my life. We all have timers on our phones, but it's so easy to get sucked into distraction. Plus, it's not always practical in all scenarios. That's one of the reasons we created Looptimer. I needed something to track my focus time without being a "portal to procrastination."
